FRESH START
At Augusta First Church of the Nazarene in Augusta, we value our Nazarene heritage, but we also know that more people are finding themselves uncomfortable or simply uninterested in belonging to a church denomination.
At First Naz we value a simple approach to being the church. Our Sunday morning service is a group of warm and friendly people committed to making our worship exciting and life-changing.
Every generation gathers together before our God in
worship. We desire to sense and experience God’s presence every time the church gathers. We want to connect with Him and hear His voice so that more of His character and
nature can be found in us! Our worship features a combination of classic worship, a modern-day gospel sound, and fresh, challenging messages from our pastor.
EVERYONE WELCOME
We value all people and all ages. Children join us during our worship gathering, and we don’t mind the occasional bustle they bring.
We intentionally value simplicity in our gathering and planning with the hope it will allow God’s people to intentionally live and act out their faith in the places that they spend most of their time such as at work, home and school. God is able to connect directly to His people, wherever they may be.
We believe God wants to raise up a new body of believers. His Spirit is falling on the hearts of those desperate for the love of Jesus Christ.
WE VALUE RELATIONSHIPS
We encourage each and every person who calls First Naz their church to join up with a small group of people in pursuit of living out the gospel in their homes and neighborhoods.
WHEN WE MEET
We meet every Sunday morning at 9:00 a.m. for Small Group Bible studies. Then we gather at 10:00 a.m. to worship God, our Creator. We also have small groups who meet every Wednesday at 7:00 p.m.
MEET OUR PASTOR
Pastor John (pictured to the right with his wife LaRonna) is our senior pastor. He and LaRonna have been at First Naz. for 18 years. John and LaRonna both are graduates of Southern Nazarene University in Bethany, Oklahoma. They have two grown children and four amazing grandsons.
Pastor John is a loving Pastor who welcomes every opportunity to minister to people whether you are seeking to get to know God for the first time, are trying to find your way back, or are uncertain that God even exists.
